Mission Statement

St. Brigid's Mission

In response to our call as people of God to provide hospitality and caring to those in need, we welcome all persons coming to St. Brigid's Kitchen as guests at the family table. We treat everyone with equal kindness. We love each other and have profound respect for one another.

At St. Brigid's Kitchen we are only treating the symptoms of hunger. The disease of inequality and oppression causes the hunger. The disease of injustice demands the attention of us all, and its solution will regrettably take time.

Meanwhile, the symptoms remain. People are hungry today. They cannot wait for a more just tomorrow. Therefore, we are compelled to feed the poor because God desires it.
